Royal British Legion 2015 Poppy Appeal - To The Memory of the Fallen and the Living

I just came across an article from the telegraph on the ‘haunting’ photographs released to launch the 2015 awareness campaign for the British Legion. The campaign positions modern day photographs next to their counterparts from the First World War, with a caption explaining who each of the subjects are. By replicating the original images down to the background and props, they have highlighted the sacrifices made in the past and how they continue today, and also show Britain’s cultural transformation to an ethnically diverse society following the First World War.

I also thought it was interesting that the original camera was used to capture the campaign images in the very same studio and the negatives were processed in the same darkroom as the originals!

There are more examples if you click on the link!
