Sunset

They say no two sunsets are ever the same. Tonight the sunset really was unique. Tomorrow, in its imaginary form, it will not be unique, rather, it will become infinitely reproducible. Via this blog it will become possible to experience the sunset of the 12/10/2015, as observed from the Ashton Memorial, any time anyone might fancy, anywhere anyone pleases.

But one thing will be missing: that sense of the “here and now”. You’ll never be able to follow with your eyes, the mountain range on the horizon and know the Lake District is really right there, just beyond the bay. You’ll never be able to point to the grey blurs beneath the clouds and know you’re watching the rain come down on some other place, perhaps onto someone else, looking back the other way.
